Small Business and Entrepreneurship Support
Enterprise Renfrew County (ERC) has been helping small businesses thrive since 1988, with two offices located in the City of Pembroke and Town of Renfrew. ERC’s mandate is to encourage and contribute to the enterprising spirit and economic development of the County by assisting entrepreneurs with the development of new or existing companies. ERC delivers two signature business programs on behalf of the Government of Ontario to County of Renfrew residents interested in entrepreneurship.
- Starter Company Plus assists entrepreneurs who are new business registrants or existing businesses operating for up to five years by guiding through a process of writing a business plan and cash flows, with the possibility of pitching for up to a $4000 start up or grow grant. The program includes business mentorship, training, and coaching, and is offered twice annually (spring/fall).
- Summer Company assists youth entrepreneurs between the ages of 15-29, who are interested in operating their own summer business, and who intend to return to school in the fall. Participants receive up to $3000 in grant funds to help them start their businesses and the program runs once annually (May-August).

Enterprise Renfrew County provides entrepreneurs with all of the tools, resources, and information they need to start and grow their businesses. Each program offers a variety of training, mentoring and connections to financial support. Free confidential business coaching is also available by appointment.
